I'm now accepting reservations for the 2013 season, my 13th year of personalized lessons and sailboat rentals! A lot of work goes into each season, the boats, advertising, etc. My customers consistently make all of the work seem trivial. They challenge me, educate me, and provide more laughs than any person rightfully deserves. Reservations and InformationOrcas Island Sailing is a small business that intends to stay that way. I answer the phone when I'm available and rely on you to leave a message when I'm out. This business is staying small so I can provide the best service to my customers, keep my stress levels low, and have as much FUN as possible! I'm open nearly every day in the summer and you can usually reach me between 9 AM and 7 PM. Sometimes sending a text message is the best way to reach me quickly.
A Brand NEW Offering!
I have some friends here on Orcas that have restored a few International One Design (IOD) classics. They will rent two boats together with skippers for a true blast into the past. Sail with friends and family on two of yachting’s classics out of Deer Harbor. Perfect for two to four couples, an extended family outing or match racing with friends while getting to know the local islands. “Nutmeg” and “Prophet “ sail from Deer Harbor among the sheltered channels and bays of Washington’s San Juan Islands. The IODs were designed in the 1930’s for racing and weekend cruising on Long Island. Cornelius Shields, noted yachtsman of the period commissioned the design to have sailing characteristics similar to Six Meters popular at the time. These are carefully looked after boats which sail together well in the conditions. Give me a call or an email to discuss booking a pair of IOD's! $500 per trip for both boats!
